It’s Making it Count Tuesday! Twice a month, Sarah and I are co-hosting the Making it Count Tuesday link-up. Start with any one of those fabulous ideas you have found online. Then, do it. Make it. Cook it. Create it. Take it from the screen, give it life and let it bless your world. When you’re done, snap a photo, write about it and share it with us.  Make your time online count.

I’m here! I’m here! Sorry this is later, but I got a stinkin’ summer cold. And I’m going to be honest with you, this is not going to be your regular MICT. I meant to get a project done this weekend, but we had to make a little in-state trip that took the entire weekend, and I’ve been in the middle of this for weeks.

That, my friends, is what lesson planning looks like at my house. And I am doing a lot of it for next year — high tide indeed. There is no question that my online time is counting in a big way lately.

So this week I am going to share some of the best resources I have found recently for homeschool planning.

New Beginnings – NB is a website for “new and struggling homeschoolers.” Even if you aren’t one of those there is tons of information there about planning and organizing, even a free printable planner with tons of options.

OLLY – Olly stands for The Organized Life and Learning Yearbook, and it is pretty cool. It is a downloadable software for Mac computers that will allow you to make learning plans, lesson plans, schedule lessons, create learning journals with photos, make a yearbook to print, and so much more. You can enter resources and create book lists. That function connects to Google Books so all you have to enter is the name of the book, and it pulls the rest of the information over. It even generates transcripts and report cards and checklists of daily work for students to follow. I am really liking this program.

The Planted Trees Blog – Chelli has a series of articles about planning her homeschool and all have been so helpful. Start with How I Plan Our Homeschool Year, then How I Plan Our Homeschool Week, and finally How I Plan Our Homeschool Day. You are sure to glean some good information from all of those.

So that is how my online time has been spent the past couple of weeks. If you have been planning for next year and have come across some great resources, please share. I would love to hear about them!
